Leadership Commitment 3 of 7 - Make Obstacles the Conditions of Your GameWe all have strengths, and we all have weaknesses. But don’t fret the later, there is someone out there who is strong where you are not. There is also someone you can uplift by your strengths. Play with your strengths on the field, but take it one step further… Try to only play those strengths you enjoy acting on and ensure someone else fills the gaps.

Stack your deck by ensuring you always have the best you available. Perhaps that talent you have and do when you have nothing else to fill your time is a hidden mastery? Could committing to work hard to make a living doing something you love set you on a great path towards your dream life? If you want to fix cars, commit to becoming the best damn mechanic there is (think chopper). Become the “go-to guy”.

Make your game score points by helping others do something they want with skills you enjoy being good at. Get more points by providing greater value and improving at being good at what you love.

To be the best, you have to get past what stops most people. The competition came to play too, and some will even play hard themselves. Your rules understand your competition as merely an condition of the game. These conditions must be followed to achieve victory. Maybe you can cheat your accounting books for a little while, but it will catch up to you. Your rules must be real and accurately describe what it takes to get you from right now, to your mission accomplished.

If you want to succeed in make-believe-land then feel free to pretend like everything and everyone loves you – or even cares. If you’re real you will have an opinion. If you have an opinion then some people will disagree with you. Because We’re all unique and therefore a little different in places disagreement should be expected. Deal with it. There is no winning in an argument. Perhaps we’re all different for the reason of needing each other to be complete. We all have weaknesses somewhere, some will effect others in ways you wont see, but they’re there just the same.

We need a team of like minded people to gain strength while navigating the rules of life and coming out a winner. Growing pains are called that for a reason: Growth requires change; change is painful. Change is what most people resist. Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. You need to change, to become a different people if you want different results. (period). The awesome part about everyone being a little different is everyone’s victory conditions will be a little different too, making room for everyone to win in the end…

Make a decision. Play hard. Don’t just make a difference, get out of your comfort zone and make the difference.
